Canada has a tremendous geology that possesses a significant part of the landmass of North America, sharing area fringes with the coterminous United States toward the south, and the U.S. province of Alaska toward the northwest. Canada extends from the Atlantic Ocean in the east to the Pacific Ocean in the west and toward the north lies the Arctic Ocean. Greenland is toward the upper east and toward the southeast Canada imparts a sea limit to the Republic of France’s overseas collectivity of Saint Pierre and Miquelon, the last remnant of New France.

Canada has the largest portion of fresh water lakes in the world making it second largest country in the world in terms of total area (including water). Considering the land alone, Canada is the fourth largest country in terms of area. Out of Canada’s thirteen provinces and territories, eleven directly fringe one of three oceans, only Alberta and Saskatchewan are landlocked.
